Here at Next Step Apprenticeships, we take the time to celebrate our apprentice’s achievements and progress. Each month we ask our skills coach to nominate an apprentice, we then randomly select a winner! 

This month we received some amazing nominations. All the apprentices nominated have demonstrated hard work and resilience. 

We are delighted to announce our May ’22 Apprentice of the Month winner is…

Abigail Simpson from Charlie Bear’s Nursery!🎉

Abi started her apprenticeship journey as a Level 2 EYP on 30th July 2020 – in the middle of a pandemic! Which had its challenges with visiting the setting, although mostly Abi and colleagues continued as key workers throughout this time.

Abi’s standard of work was very high, and her enthusiasm was higher still, it was no surprise when Abi completed ahead of a shorter course duration and with a distinction grade in early November 2021.

It was great to know that Abi wanted to progress to the EYE L3 and signed up on the 18th January 2022- although she wished it could have been sooner!

I enjoy guiding Abi through her course and discussing the differences between the two levels, including the delivery methods, which Abi likes to share her views on.

Abi is continuing with the same high level and expectations of herself to do well.

I am pleased that she has been awarded Apprentice of the Month for May 2022 it is well deserved, and I know her manager and colleagues will be very pleased and proud of her.
