Apprentice of the Month January 2022

News

Here at Next Step Apprenticeships, we take the time to celebrate our apprentice’s achievements and progress. Each month we ask our skills coach to nominate an apprentice, we then randomly select a winner!

This month we receive some amazing nominations. All the apprentices nominated have demonstrated hard work and resilience.

We are delighted to announce our January ’22 Apprentice of the Month winner is…

Ellie Jenkins from Hollingbury Nursery!🎉

“I would like to nominate Ellie Jenkins from Hollingbury Park Pre-School as my Apprentice of the Month.

Ellie works term time only and had 18 months to achieve the qualification ready to take on the EPA stage.
I have been working with Ellie through the whole duration of the pandemic, Ellie started her EYE Level 3 Diploma on 1st March 2020, and we know what was happening at that time!!

This led to a lot of disruption in carrying out observations, as is necessary for childcare qualifications, but when stepping in to see Ellie between the lockdown restrictions she always had a smile to greet me.

Ellie was also chosen for an Ofsted visit in June 2021 where at one point the inspector spoke to Ellie alone. Although anxious Ellie was professional and knowledgeable on the course programme, also explaining where she wanted to move onto next in her career. This was mentioned in the Ofsted feedback.

Ellie achieved 97% in her multiple-choice questions test and a distinction in the professional discussion at the EPA stage meaning an overall grade of distinction for her hard work.
It has been a pleasure to work with Ellie, who has been positive throughout the course and rose to any challenges that the pandemic threw her way, as well as an internet failure during the online EPA test!

The team at Hollingbury Park are extremely proud of Ellie as we all are at Next Step Apprenticeships.

Congratulations again Ellie, well done!!”

Congratulations Ellie for being awarded  Apprentice of the month January 2022!👏
