Next Step Apprenticeships to Deliver New Skills Bootcamp in Leadership and Management in Partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council

News

We’re proud to announce that Next Step Apprenticeships has been awarded the contract to deliver a Skills Bootcamp in Leadership and Management, as part of the government’s Skills for Life programme. Delivered in partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council, this exciting initiative allows us to expand our impact across the region—supporting adults to gain the skills, confidence, and qualifications they need to take the next step in their careers.

The 12-week, fully funded course is open to adults aged 19+ who are long-term unemployed or working fewer than 17 hours per week. Our goal is simple: to provide accessible, high-quality training that helps people move into employment or further learning—with a strong emphasis on gaining a job interview by the end of the course, and ideally securing a role or apprenticeship.

Our Skills Bootcamp covers a wide range of key areas, including:

  • Leading and Managing People
  • Coaching and mentoring techniques
  • Talks from sector specialists
  • Team management and development
  • Mock interviews and presentation skills
  • Social media and digital marketing
  • Personalised career coaching
  • Practical, hands-on learning
  • Up-to-date, industry-relevant content

“This Bootcamp is about more than training—it’s about transformation,” said Dawn Hale, Quality Director at Next Step Apprenticeships. “We’re incredibly proud to be delivering this programme in partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council, and to be offering people a genuine route into employment, further training, or an apprenticeship.”

This project reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening local communities, reducing unemployment, and delivering accessible, life-changing training opportunities across Sussex and beyond.
