However, we believe it is important to weigh up your options, it is important to consider all aspects of Apprenticeships and University.
Apprenticeships allow you to earn while you learn. We offer a variety of office-based apprenticeships such as HR, Business Administration, Digital Marketing, Customer Service, Early Years, Hospitality, Recruitment, Accounting, ICT, and more.
If you would like to gain new skills and knowledge while earning a salary, then an apprenticeship may be the right path for you. Apprenticeships are available for anyone aged 16+.
Here are a few reasons why you may want to choose an apprenticeship:
It’s FREE!
– Apprenticeships are completely free, you are actually earning a wage while you are working! This differs from universities as you would need to pay for your course, and this is usually done by taking out a student loan.
Apprenticeships offer a range of qualifications at various levels. Please see the level breakdown below:
– Level 2 = GCSE
– Level 3 = A level
– Level 4, 5, 6 and 7 = Foundation degree and above
– Levels 6 and 7 = Bachelor’s or master’s degree
This is great as you can work your way up to a degree apprenticeship!
Work Experience:
Apprenticeships allow you to gain real-life work experience, working in an office can provide you with a wide range of work and personal skills, such as learning the ability to network in a formal setting, confidence, organisational skills, leadership skills, and much more.

Our Skills Coaches are here to support you with your apprenticeships. They are similar to tutors as they help with coursework and hold regular meetings with you to ensure your needs are being met.
University is a popular option for many school/college leavers. Many universities offer a wide range of courses. However, it is easy to feel pressured when deciding to go to university or to do an apprenticeship. It is important to gain a deeper understanding of university and search the various courses and the modules included.
Qualification
With university, you will gain a highly valued degree. However, this can also be gained through an apprenticeship, which is known as a degree apprenticeship.
Life Experience
One of the main reasons students decide to go to university is due to the independence they gain. When going to university many students decide to live out, this teaches them valuable life lessons.
Employability
Although a university degree is highly respected, an apprenticeship is also equally respected by employers as they gain real-life experience.
Independence
University does provide you with independence as you must prioritise and manage your time efficiently to meet deadlines. Similarly, apprenticeships also encourage independence, as you have to find a work and education balance.
Both apprenticeships and university have many common factors, the decision is completely up to you! What lifestyle do you feel that you would suit best? Do you want to stay full-time education, or would you like to experience working alongside education? You can also do an apprenticeship at any age 16+! This means you can do an apprenticeship before or after university. Whatever you choose to do, we wish you all the best!
