Apprenticeship: Business Administration Level 3
Location: Lancing
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and growing logistics company. As a Transport Administration Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the business, ensuring all administrative and transport-related processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Working closely with the transport and operations team, you will gain hands-on experience in administration, logistics coordination, and customer service. This role offers the chance to build strong organisational skills, gain a nationally recognised qualification, and develop a foundation for a career within the transport and logistics sector.

Desired Skills & Qualities
- Experience: Prior experience in an logistical administrative or operations role is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to learn the various business software systems
- Organisational Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on details and ensure accuracy in operational tasks.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify problems and propose practical solutions.
- Team Player: Ability to work well within a team environment and independently when needed

Minimum:
- GCSEs (Grade A–C/4–9) in English and Maths, or equivalent
- Strong IT and data entry skills
Responsibilities for an apprentice
- Administrative Support: Assist in daily administrative tasks such as data entry, scheduling, filing, and responding to inquiries. Responding to customer enquiries via telephone or email in an efficient manner.
- Communication Coordination: Communicate with team members, contractors, clients, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- Process Improvement: Help identify areas where operational efficiency can be improved and suggest potential solutions.
- Logistical Support: Assist with negotiating transportation of consignments and goods and ensure proper handling of logistics.
- Data Analysis: Assist with compiling operational data and producing reports for the management team where required.
- Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service by handling enquiries, complaints, and resolving issues related to operations.
- Team Collaboration: Work with various teams to ensure operational tasks are carried out efficiently and deadlines are met.
- Diversity throughout Departments: Working between all facets of the company to ensure you can assist where the business requirements are most needed.
Apprenticeship Information
You will be enrolled on the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship, typically completed over 18 months. This includes:
- Regular workplace-based learning supported by your training provider and line manager
- A minimum of 6 hours per week of off-the-job training
- Development of skills, knowledge, and behaviours aligned to the apprenticeship standard
- Completion of a portfolio and end-point assessment
- Functional Skills support in English or Maths if not previously achieved at Level 2
Prospects
Once you have completed your apprenticeship there will be the opportunity to potentially go into a permanent based role.
