Job Title: Early Years Apprentice

Apprenticeship: Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship

Location: Brighton & Hove

Salary: £8.00 per hour

Hours: Full-time, 36–40 hours per week

Start Date: November/December 2026

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Early Years Apprentices to join a growing and established Early Years setting in Brighton & Hove.

 

These are newly created positions due to continued growth, offering an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and wants to build a long-term career within Early Years. The setting is particularly interested in apprentices who have the potential to progress from Level 3 through to Level 5 in the future.

Requirements

  • Genuine passion for working with children and developing a career in Early Years
  • Enthusiastic, positive and committed attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and willing to learn
  • Able to work effectively as part of a close-knit team
  • Interest in developing professionally and progressing within Early Years
  • Candidates with interests in Outdoor Education, Music, Arts or STEM would be particularly welcomed
  • Must be comfortable with the apprenticeship wage
  • The setting is looking for candidates with the right attitude and long-term potential rather than simply focusing on existing qualifications

 

Responsibilities for an Apprentice

  • Support the day-to-day care, learning and development of children
  • Help create a safe, positive and engaging environment
  • Assist with age-appropriate activities and learning experiences
  • Support children’s social, emotional and educational development
  • Encourage children to explore, play and develop their independence
  • Help prepare activities and learning areas
  • Work closely with qualified Early Years Educators
  • Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and Early Years procedures
  • Participate in training and development alongside your apprenticeship
  • Develop your knowledge and practical skills with the aim of progressing within Early Years

 

Apprenticeship Information

You will be enrolled on the Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship and receive regular workplace-based learning supported by your training provider and line manager.

You will develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for the apprenticeship standard, build a portfolio of evidence and complete an end-point assessment. Functional Skills support in English or Maths will also be provided if Level 2 has not previously been achieved.

 

Prospects

The setting is keen to invest in people who want to build a long-term career in Early Years, with the potential to progress from Level 3 through to Level 5. There may also be future opportunities to develop into more senior positions as the organisation continues to grow.
