Our client based in Hove is looking to recruit a Business Administration Apprentice. They are a leading property marketing company, the team have served thousands of clients ranging from estate agents, developers, interior designers and major corporations. Having been instructed to complete marketing packages on tens of thousands of residential properties across East and West Sussex, the client is one of the leading suppliers of marketing material to independent estate agents across 2 counties.


  • Providing office support including customer and employee support
  • Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity
  • Researching company data and archived reports
  • Keeping computer databases up to date
  • Interacting with clients either on the phone or in person
  • Answering phones and connecting calls to the proper department
  • Taking phone messages and passing them on
  • Following up on business communications, billing, and ordering
  • Communicating with materials suppliers and vendors
  • Invoicing
  • Using spreadsheets to track expenses and company spending
  • Collecting and inputting company data
  • Making travel arrangements for employees
  • Learning about the company’s mission and available products/services
  • Educating clients about what products/services are available and how to purchase them
  • Building relationships with clients
  • Sending faxes and emails
  • Preparing documents by printing, copying, and binding
  • Writing and editing company correspondence
  • Collecting and sorting post
  • Assisting with minor technical support
  • Acting as a personal assistant to the executive team
  • Scheduling appointments and events
  • Ordering office stationery and other supplies
  • Preparing meeting rooms by setting up chairs and getting refreshments
  • Participating in office meetings and taking meeting minutes
  • Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvements
  • Being ready for any other administrative tasks that are required

Desired skills

  • Ability to prioritise and organise time effectively and to manage workload to deadlines
  • Good IT skills i.e. competent in the use of Email, Social Media and Microsoft Office applications especially Word and Excel
  • Good telephone manner
  • Able to demonstrate good standard of literacy
  • Presented in a manner appropriate to a professional firm
  • Able to understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Conscientious and adaptable shows attention to detail

Personal qualities

  • Previous experience of office work useful but not essential
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, e.g. tact, sensitivity, discretion, the ability to listen and an enthusiasm for learning
  • Applicant must be presentable, have excellent people/communication skills.

Desired qualifications

  • Maths and English GCSEs at grades A*-C or 9-4.
